With the Internet becoming the universal source of information for millions of people, the public gradually shift their interactions and the focus of life on Internet platforms. Social science studies merge traditional approaches into these new media and platforms, creating novel research issues and study methods. The rise of AI further creates a tremendous demand for related techniques, forcing an interaction between social network analysis and artificial intelligence, including text mining and machine learning. It has become a trend to investigate critical social issues by triangulating computational social scientific approaches and traditional social scientific methods.
This symposium will invite internationally renowned scholars, all of whom achieve expertise in communication and take the leading role in their specific field, to share professional experiences and provide feedback. These experts will highlight the leading-edge research toward important issues in different countries or common concerns worldwide, integrating communication with computational opinion mining approaches.
